Club History
The concept of forming a football club was always in Stephen Pace Asiack`s mind. From then onwards he had always shared his football ideas and discussions with one of his best friends Rolan Borg. Both individuals were heavily involved in football in the past; both as players and as organisers.
On the 14th of May 2012, Stephen had created a facebook secret group and invited loads of players whom he had played with in the past and sent a message to Rolan informing him he had just started the process of recruitment of player for the team and that he would like him to assist him with this task.
He posted a note saying that this means a lot to him and all individuals who would want to join the team for try outs would be more than welcome.
In a short span of time , things started to immediately pick up rather well. Fifteen players showed their interest and joined the squad on the first day for the try outs and soon after many others joined.
From there Stephen realised that he needed assistance with the operations of the team.
Four new members were appointed; Rolan Borg as president of the team, Mark Griscti as the general secretary and in charge of advertising the team, Luke O’Neill as the assistant coach, Michelle Mifsud as the financial manager of the club and Stephen as the squad coach.
Mark will be working on the website and its maintenance and the official facebook page for San Gwann Knights and Rolan is actively looking for sponsors where two have already sponsored the club.
All of us are now looking forward to start this new adventure as a newly formed club and we are ready for every challenge that we will have to face.
